Evens splits restaurant bills. It has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics trackers, and it collects nothing beyond what a bill needs to work. This page covers the Evens website and the Evens iOS app. Last updated 5 August 2026.

What Evens stores

The receipt photo, only once you share the bill. Scanning a receipt does not store it anywhere. The photo is read, handed straight back to your phone, and kept only in that browser or app until you choose to share the bill. If you back out, retake it or close the tab, nothing about it was ever saved. When you do share, a copy is stored so the table can check their share against the paper, shrunk and stripped of its metadata first, so the location, time and camera details a phone attaches to a photo are not kept.
The bill itself. The venue name, the items and prices, any service charge, and the currency.
First names. Whatever each person types when they claim their items. A nickname works fine.
Payment usernames, only if you add them. The host can attach a Revolut or Wise username so friends can pay them back in one tap. Add usernames only, never a phone or account number.

That is the whole list. Evens never asks for your email, phone number, contacts or location, and the app does not track you across other apps or websites.

Who can see a bill

Every bill lives at a private link with an unguessable address. Anyone who has the link can open the bill, see the receipt photo, the items, the names and who claimed what. Share the link the way you would share the bill itself: with the people at the table.

How the receipt is read

The photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude, which reads the items and prices off it. The photo is used for that one reading and is not used to train models. Bills and photos are stored with Supabase, and the site runs on Vercel.

How long it is kept

Bills stay up so the table can settle at their own pace, tonight or next week. If you want a bill and its photo deleted, email us the link and we will remove it.

Your choices

Claimed something by mistake? Tap it on your own screen and remove it yourself, no need to ask anyone.
Want a bill gone? Email the bill link to hello@verafyed.com and it will be deleted, photo included.
The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to scan a receipt. Both permissions can be revoked any time in iOS Settings.
